Organic banana chips
The Banana is the fruit of the Banana tree, a herbaceous plant (not a tree as many believe), of the Musaceae family, native to the tropical areas of South East Asia. Almost all bananas used for food come from the Musa acuminata and Musa balbisiana species.
The word banana may come from the Arabic banan, meaning finger, but it is thought more likely to derive from a sub-Saharan West African language, perhaps from the Wolof language word banaana .
The Banana tree can reach up to 10 meters in height. At the apex of its stem, in addition to the very long leaves, its flowers and the so-called banana heart develop, a thin shell with the shape (slightly elongated) and the color of a heart, inside which it is born and grows the bunch of bananas, which at the peak of its ripening can contain up to 200 fruits and weigh up to 50 kg.
To best preserve and use this abundance of fruits, hundreds of recipes have been developed all over the world. One of the most famous, tasty and widespread is that of Banana Chips.
